Oops

I thought that I'd been updating this blog with my phone. As it turns out, it hasn't been posting properly. What a bummer.

Warren is now a big-boy toddler!
He turned one on November 9th. He had a great time at his little party, playing with his siblings and cake. :)
He refuses to eat baby/toddler processed food, as all of my children did past 10 months. He loves beans, tomatoes, pasta, and apple juice.
He understands and attempts to mimic many words like "hi", "up", "Daddy". (It turns out that "mamamama" means "gimme food" or that the food he's eating is yummy.)
He's in love with puppies and babies. He "woofs" at every dog he sees.
He waves at everyone and smiles all the time.
He doesn't seem to have any sort of issue being left with other adults, even strangers at the Y. But he doesn't like to sleep alone and more nights than not, he ends up in our bed at around 1am. We don't mind too much.
His favorite songs are "Old McDonald", "Itsy, Bitsy Spider", and "Pat-a-Cake". He'll dance to any music though.
He enjoys wrestling with his brothers and giving kisses to his sisters.
He's a good boy and we love him terribly!
That's all for now.

7 Months

Wow, time flies when you're smooching on a baby. I had hoped to keep this continually updated as a nice little baby book, but as anyone with more than one child knows.... HAHAHA Yeah, RIGHT! So here we are at 7 months old and I haven't written since he was born.
Breatfeeding this one wasn't as easy as it was for the girls. My goal of a year was totally shattered after becoming unbelievable ill, not once, but twice in his first 4 months. I have SOME milk leak if I lay wrong, so I've debated with myself about re-lactation. I'm still debating....
Warren has been cloth-diapered about 70% of the time and I have to say it's been one of the best things I've ever done. This kid has not had a single note-worthy diaper rash! The money we've saved has left us the ability to breathe a little. There's NO WAY we could have afforded to diaper him in plastic, besides modern cloth diapers are SO DARN CUTE! The denim-looking disposables don't even begin to compare!
The thing I'm most proud of sticking to was keeping my son intact. I can not imagine how anyone would want to cut 1/3 of their newborn son's penis off. And how in caring for the healing of the amputation site, you wouldn't question WHY you allowed this. I always knew I would never have this done to my child, because it didn't make any logical sense, but I had no facts to present to others as to why they shouldn't do it either. I kinda left it as a simple parental choice. I guess I just never thought that much about influencing others not to. But the more I've read and continue to read about circumcision, the more I'm appalled by the practice and want to warn other parents. I don't know that I'd call myself an "intactivist" at this point, but I'm on that side of the fence, without a doubt!
Warren is an amazingly sweet boy and I am so euphoric about being his mommy. He wears me out, but in the most satisfying way. I'll try to come and update this thing more often, because I know I'll want to relive his baby-hood for the rest of my life!
